I recently had the extraordinary pleasure of sitting down to an inspiring interview with the visionary Rad Hourani over at PAPERMAG! Unfortunately I had to cut down our compelling discourse to a mere 1,000 words... so I thought I'd share a bit more of his (previously unpublished) brilliance with you, my bunny amies!
When style.com tapped Canadian former stylist Rad Hourani as one of their Top 10 New Faces for Spring 2008, they likened his angular, brooding Parisian debut to that of Ann Demeulemeester and Helmut Lang. Rad's eagerly anticipated second collection firmly defined his signature look as entirely his own: a dark, linear shape that oozes of urban androgyny. Within just two collections, his seasonless unisex wares have gained an executive cult following from the likes of Holt Renfrew and Barneys. However Rad's unwavering vision extends past merely designing clothes; the budding photographer's ethereal video productions in collaboration with the 20th anniversary of Mode Models garnered him both critical acclaim and a sea of admirers among the who's who of casting directors.
Best wishes Siribean!
"... that being said, I'm sure that I'm not alone when I ask you if you'd pretty please consider posting photos of your no doubt fabulous getups since from the looks of your blog and your various (rare) public appearances I simply adore your taste! Do you think you could also tell us like what your [sic] wearing? That'd be amazing!
Thanks for the daily inspiration, your loyal 'bunny reader' Bianca"
Thank you for your kind words, Bianca! Yes, I generally am quite shy and truly am an exceptionally private person (I think I've posted photos of myself a grand total of about three times since bB's inception).
That being said, Bianca could not possibly have caught me at a more opportune moment, as I had just returned home to gather the rest of my belongings for my new apartment in New York! I thought I may as well partake in a little photobooth sesh of outfits that I did not pack for Gotham (and ipso facto will not be worn during September's upcoming fashweeks).
To commemorate the crazy-over-the-top-awe-inspiring opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games, Opening Ceremony (a.k.a. NYC and LA's answer to Colette and your bunny's fave SoHo shopspot) is keeping its doors open for a supernatural 72 hours straight!
